Data gathering in the 90s.

When we hear "data gathering", most of us think of analysts or statisticians. "I'm not doing any of that."

Think twice. Everything's data, not only numbers. Think about phone numbers, dates, addresses, status.—all these are data. We're gathering data when we're compiling a birthday list for our team, when we're collecting shipping information from our clients, when we're asking employees for time sheets, or when we're asking project owners to fill out status reports.

HOW are we doing most of that? Most of the time we're using the same tools like the generations before. We create templates on paper or spreadsheet. We send it out by email or mail. We remind people on the phone or by email. We wait. We consolidate it all into one list.

A lot of work. But it can be done easier. Stay posted...
